Opportunity to buy a company.

Situation: Former employee for a replacement window company was offered the opportunity to buy the company. His experience is in the manufacturing and installation.

His desire is to measure, manufacture and install products as a one man operation.

He speaks English but not well. Plans to move the operation to Bardstown. Any suggestions?

Measuring Productivity

My company is a fifteen man wood fabrication business. A great deal of our work is custom built and labor intensity varies from product to product.

I would like to develop some method of measuring productivity. Then using that basis and other factors to establish product costs – either individually or by categories.
